[glow=red,2,300]FAQ!!![/glow]
Question: When are the next stages of housing coming out?
Answer: WE DON'T KNOW - please don't ask.
Question: How many houses can I have? [/u]
Answer: You can only have one house per character at a time. If you already have a house, you must sell it in order to get a new one.
Question: 1. Can we transfer our storage slots into the houses once bigger houses come out? 2. What happens to the storage slots if you sell a house? [/u]
Answer: 1. The storage slots actually appear in your character's inventory, not in the houses themselves. Houses ADD storage slots to your inventory.
2. See the below quote from Captain Rhubarb:
quote:
The log cabin has been added to the House Shop.
If you already own a house, and want to upgrade:
1) Visit Valencia outside the Inn, and select "House and House Item Shop".
2) Sell your tent or Tiki hut.
3) Buy the Log Cabin.
NOTE: You will NOT lose any storage or lose any items when you sell your old house.
If you check your Inventory after you sell your house, the storage will show (for example) "Weapons 9/8". The slot stays there, but if you sell an item from that weapon list, you lose the 'house-based' slot. Once you buy another Log Cabin, the slot will come back.
Question: Is there a cap on how much your house resale value can be? [/u]
Answer: No. At the present time (and I haven't heard anything otherwise), the value of your house will continue to rise indefinitely, at 5% of the purchase price. For example, a Log Cabin that you purchase for 2000 Z-tokens will return to a resale value of 2000 tokens after two weeks. 22 weeks after you purchase it, the resale value will be 4000 tokens. 42 weeks after you buy it, it will be worth 6000 tokens, and so on.
Question: When does my house resale increase? [/u]
Answer: 12:00am (server reset time) on the same day of the week that you purchased it.
Question: Do either the tent or Tiki Hut have storage slots?
Answer: No, they don't.
Question: How do I upgrade my house? I click on the "House" button, and can only go into my house or battle monsters!! [/u]
Answer: Go and see the Z-token Valencia in front of Yulgar's Inn. (and the question two above this one.)
Question: Do you have to clear a new piece of land if you upgrade? [/u]
Answer: Yes, that's part of the fun of owning a new home. Someday, new homes will be in other regions, like fire, or ice.
Question: Do I HAVE to clear land to have my house increase in value? [/u]
Answer: Apparently not, surprisingly. However, if you do not build your house, you do not get access to the storage slots/potion refills/etc.
Question: I am trying to clear my the trees, but no matter how many monsters I fight, the trees won't disappear. What's the problem? [/u]
Answer: The progress you make is only saved when the outcome of the battles is saved. If you have hit both your exp and gold caps for the day, the battles aren't saved, so the trees won't disappear. You have to wait until midnight server time, then the caps will reset, you will get exp and gold again and you will be able to clear the trees.
Question: If I sell my house, what happens to the guards I bought/have? Do I lose them? [/u]
Answer: No. They hang around until you buy another one. They are separate items to the actual house.
Question: What does the battle monsters button do besides let you battle monsters? [/u]
Answer: The "Random Battle" button works exactly like the "Battle Monsters" button in town. The "Battle Nearby" button will put you into a fight against a monster that is appropriate to the area your house is located in.
Question: How do I see how many visitors my house has had? [/u]
Answer: Go to your character page, and click on the House link. It will be displayed there. You CAN'T see it when you are playing the game.
Question: How do I visit other players' houses and fight their guards? [/u]
Answer: First you have to buy a house. When you have bought one, click on the "House" button below the "Battle Monsters" button in town. Once you are in front of your house, click on "Visit Neighbor" in the lower right corner of the screen. This will take you to a randomly chosen house and if the house is guarded, you have to fight the guards.
Question: Is there a point to having guards or paintings?
Answer: Guards protect your house from visitors. Whenever someone visits your house, they have to fight thorugh all your guards first before they can enter your house to look at your paintings or to refill their potions.
Guards also increase to total value of your house, which is used to determine your rank on the Top 100 Houseowner's List. This value is different from your house's sellback, so buying guards won't increase the sellback or the amount of Z-Tokens the sellback increases each week.
Unless you want to appear on that list, you currently don't need guards, since no damage can be done to your house by visitors. This may change in the future, though.
Paintings are used as decoration and they also add to the value of your house. Again, this is the value that is used to determine your rank on the top list, not the sellback of your house. Your house's sellback won't change if you buy a guard or a painting.
Question: What is the difference between the Darkovia houses and the regular Forest houses?
Answer: There are two differences:
The scenery and the monsters you can encounter when fighting near your house are different. The Forest houses have a Greenguard Forest background and you fight forest based monsters, the Darkovia houses have a Darkovia background and you can encounter darkness based monsters.
The Darkovia houses have a higher price than the Forest houses. The reason for this is that lots in Darkovia are more expensive and that Darkovia houses have more HP than Forest houses. The HP are currently not used for anything. Because the sellback for houses raises by 5% of the original buying price per week, you will get more Z-Tokens per week from the Darkovia houses than from the Forest houses.

Captain Rhubarb:
We plan to make some sort of buyable "crops" or "livestock" that you can add to your house, and make gold from it.
Might even allow random visits to other player's houses, to either help or steal from other houses.....

The token sell back price of Houses has been changed.
The initial sell back price is 90% of the original buying price.
The value of the house will increase by 5% of its original buying price each week, starting from when you first bought it. So, the sell back price of your house will be double its original value after 22 weeks! A great way to get tokens for buying the next larger house.
